## Optional backend

Leave **Backend URL** blank for normal on-device feed parsing. Configure your own Worker only when you want Worker-backed feed merging, clean-reader extraction, discovery/scraping, or synchronized state.

<Tip>
  If a stream works locally but fails through Cast, check whether it needs custom `User-Agent` or `Referer` headers. The default Cast receiver fetches media itself and does not inherit Kanarek's local request overrides.
